The Lava Flow Mine can be accessed by using the “;;lfm” command or clicking the mining skill. A mining level of 68 is required to mine the crust.

Recommended items

• Your best pickaxe. Dragon is required for the “Gilded” achievement. (Toolbelted pickaxes also work for this achievement)
• Varrock Armor from the Prestige Shop for an extra 1% mining xp.
• Golden mining suit, if you already have it. (The platebody of the golden mining suit takes on the effects of the Varrock armor, if you own it)
• A Lava Titan familiar (requiring level 83 Summoning) for an invisible +10 mining boost.
• A weapon. (Note: this activity is completely safe for skillers)

Mechanics

Lava Flow Mine is a mining area that rewards you for helping to increase the flow in the 4 lava channels A, B, C, D by mining away the crust.

To get the best possible XP and respect rates, you should be following the segment that has the lowest flow rate, 50%. You gain 1% respect for every 76,000 xp gained from mining the crust.

You can find this specific segment by speaking to Foreman Jaak at the entrance to the mine in the west, right by where you teleport in. Jaak will tell you what channel the blockage is currently in.

The channel closest to him is channel A, and the one furthest away is D. You check the flow rate by clicking the gauges next to each segment.
