Steps for performing a clean install of BlissScape in Windows

  1. Force quit all Java.exe programs in your task manager.
  2. Look in [c:\Program Files\Java] and [C:\Program Files(x86)\Java]; there should only be ONE folder in EACH location, titled something like jre1.8.0.### If there are multiple folders for some reason, uninstall older versions (smaller ###) of jre. Having jdk (Java Development Kit) can also cause your client to be stuck in Safe Mode. You should remove incorrect versions of Java through the Windows Settings → Apps & Features menu; just deleting the Java files from Windows Explorer may not result in a full uninstall.
  3. Ensure you have your graphics card manufacturer's newest set of OpenGL drivers. For an NVIDIA graphics card, fill out the fields for your machine and download the drivers. For an AMD graphics card, do the same.
  4. Navigate to [C:\Users\(yourname)] and search for “BlissScape”, then delete everything you find.
  5. Reboot your computer.
  6. Download the launcher again. The cache will take a moment to load, but this will be a clean refresh for the game. If you are having issues loading the client, try disconnecting from any active VPN and ensure your Firewall/Antivirus is not blocking the connection.
  7. Play in OpenGL graphics with your CPU usage setting (in custom graphics options) on Maximum.
